Characteristics of high turbidity water in water treatment equipment

The characteristics of high turbidity water are mainly reflected in the different settlement characteristics. The settlement process of (water treatment equipment) will produce muddy liquid level and have the characteristics of interface settlement.

(1) When the sediment concentration is low (below 6kg / m3) and the sediment particle composition is coarse, it generally has free sedimentation

(2) When the sediment concentration is high (above 6kg / m2 and below 15 ~ 20kg / m3), or the sediment particles are fine, flocculation sedimentation is formed due to the natural flocculation of fine sediment.

(3) When the sand content is higher (> 15-20kg / M), the fine-grained mud and sand (water treatment equipment) restrict each other due to strong flocculation, forming a uniform concentration muddy water layer. The uniformly concentrated muddy water layer sinks at the same average speed and produces an obvious clear muddy water interface, which is called muddy liquid level. This kind of settlement is called interface settlement. The fine sediment that constitutes the uniformly concentrated muddy water layer is called stable sediment, and its particle size range increases with the increase of sediment concentration.

(4) As the sediment content of raw water continues to increase, the sediment particles will further flocculate into a spatial network structure, and the viscosity also increases sharply. At this time, the particles are no longer sorted due to different particle sizes in the settlement, but the coarse and fine particles form a uniform system and are compressed and dehydrated, which is called compression settlement.

With different types of sedimentation, the laws followed by particle sedimentation and the corresponding sedimentation velocity are also different. The particle group sedimentation of high turbidity water follows the law of interface sedimentation, so the sedimentation tank should be designed and operated according to the sedimentation rate of ocean liquid level
